History

Dutch flower export history

Carlo Vijverberg started the export of flowers to the USA and Canada from the Vijverberg family lily nursery in 1999. Shortly thereafter, in 2000, Alex van der Goes became Carlo’s partner. We used a delivery van to pick up the flowers directly from the growers in the Westland and then packaged them at the nursery for the various air freight destinations. In 2003 we entered into a strategic partnership with flower export company Hamifleurs and moved to the modern Hamifleurs commercial property at Trade Parc Westland. By taking advantage of Hamifleurs’ purchasing power in combination with exchanging personnel, we were able to focus more on the acquisition, with rapid growth as a result.
Today we have managed to expand the export market to more than 60 air freight destinations worldwide, including North America (America and Canada), the Middle East, the Far East, Africa, and the Caribbean region.
