    Cryptomeria japonica is the standard variety, with fresh, deep-green needles. 'Elegans' changes color in the fall and winter to a striking bronze-reddish-brown hue, ideal for fall and Christmas themes. 'Cristata' has a cockscomb-like growth habit, perfect for decorative arrangements.
